1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
Today I want to talk about how a woman should exemplify herself in front of others. I am sick and tired of seeing other women walk around in barely any clothing and try and justify their actions to others- especially when they’re CHRISTIAN WOMEN. Our bodies are the temple of the Lord, which basically means we should treat them accordingly with honor and respect!
1 Timothy 2:9
“Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,”
The Bible also says that we as women should make sure to dress appropriately. There is no need to walk around in the way some people do! As Christians we are not only supposed to be an example of Christ but also as an example to other people to show them how one should act.
Girls all the time use the excuse that ‘times have changed’. I rebuke that. Even though times have changed and the world is becoming more and more corrupted doesn’t mean that we should be pressured into changing as well, especially in such a negative way. The world has changed but the Bible hasn’t.
Also the only type of attention girls will recieve dressing in such a matter is negative attention. No man can ever have respect for you if you do not have respect for yourself. God has a plan in stored for you, one with a wonderful respectful man who will treat you like his princess. Just wait and stop trying to rush the process. Trust in Him, because he has no intention to harm you. There are great guys out there who’s main quality they look for in a girl is not the way they dress or look. They care about -and I’m sorry if this sounds cliche- what’s within. They care about your morals, goals, and your views on life. A real man who cares about you won’t expect you to dress in shameful attire or do innapropriate things.
And girls, just as a reminder: you are beautiful without all the things you think you have to do to try and get attention.
